A networking event for the Tucson based alumni of the three Schools of Business (ASU, NAU, U of A). Academic research and managerial practice indicates that goal setting helps individuals with challenging, specific goals work harder, persist longer, and achieve better performance outcomes than when told to “do your best.” However, there is a grow set of research indicating that goals can lead to unintended consequences such as unethical behavior. Thus, we need to be careful when implementing goals in our organizations.
